LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA | The push and pull of life in Los Angeles is reflected in the facade of this Mar Vista home, as well as the shifting plan that separates public and private living spaces. In every interior space, huge windows frame natural moments on the site and connect the residents to the outdoors throughout the house. Site spatial constrictions meant that the backyard and living/family spaces had to be connected and easily used together as singular zones. A light color and material palette optimize the natural light that floods the living spaces. The exterior spaces are thoughtfully designed to celebrate native California landscaping and year-round outdoor living.
